FGP Rankings: Anderson Silva Victims, or Middleweights
Well, time for me to do some work here. I've avoided taking on a middleweight ranking because it's basically Anderson Silva and [insert any order of 185lb fighters here]. Anderson's been so brutally dominant that it's hard to even care about the fighters under him. He's like a pelt-clad barbarian king sitting on a pile of the skulls of his enemies. But I'll give it a shot anyways.
- Anderson "The Spider" Silva
- "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler
- Yushin Okami
- Dan Henderson
- Nate Marquardt
- Jorge Santiago
- Matt "Stinky" Lindland
- Gegard Mousasi
- Kazuo Misaki
- Cung Le
- Denis Kang
- "Smokin'" Joey Villasenor
- Murilo "Ninja" Rua
- Trevor Prangley
- Chael Sonnen
- Paulo "Ely" Filho
I'm sure I've missed someone good somewhere in there. Let me know what you think, and I'll change it up if you make sense.
UPDATE: I agree with kentyman in comments. He smat. Also: "Filho-dough" is pretty funny.
Another UPDATE: Rev. C brings up a good point about Cung Le. He's not smat, but he's got kind of a native cunning, like a stoat, or mink.

I don't think I'd have Lindland that high, and I'd put Hendo higher.
gimme a sweet quotable reason.
you know, looking over lindland's record, he's got a lot of blank times. the guy just doesn't fight all that often, and that semi-poor performance against nasciemento or however you spell it at affliction doesn't really make you think he's all that.
should hendo be on the list? is he coming back to MW?
i guess since his last fight was at 185 i kinda didn't need to ask that.
i had a lot of trouble throwing filho in there at all after his last fight.
Paulo Phyllo-Dough should technically still be on the list, but goddamn he sucked last time we saw him.
Matt Lindland shouldn't be that high because he hardly fights, and he sucked in his last fight. You can quote me on that. :)
that's a good point. we haven't seen much out of shamrock of late (beating phil baroni doesn't count) but cung le definitely deserves to be on there.
franklin deserves to be on there if he's at middleweight. that's the question i've got. hendo just fought at 185 against palhares right? leites i don't see that high yet, but he's close. he was getting pretty clowned by marquardt as that fight went on. if it wasn't for marquardt goin all stupid it would have been a solid win for nate the great. maia is right on the doorstep. he needs a win over a top 15 guy, or someone better than a gatekeeper. I know you love nate quarry, but he's not top 20 MW. neither is macdonald or ed "short career" herman.
you just hate kang because he's half korean, don't you.
